Resolvit Employees “Spread the Love” Through Holiday Community Service
Our New Orleans and Raleigh teams recently decided to “spread the Resolvit love” through holiday community service projects. In lieu of traditional office Christmas parties, both teams opted to bring joy and good cheer to those in need.
On December 2nd, the New Orleans team partnered with The Good Shepherd School. Located just steps from our downtown NOLA office, Good Shepherd provides lower-income youth in grades K-7 with a specialized, tuition-free education. Its mission: to give students the tools they need to pursue fulfilling academic careers.
Resolvit employees spent the entire day with Good Shepherd’s 106 students, engaging with them through a variety of activities that included reading holiday stories, working with the staff to serve lunch, and helping students make glittery ornaments to take home to their families. Our internal employees and consultants also sat in on a robotics class, where students showed off some of their recent tech projects.
“I heard students, teachers, and administrators say over and over again how refreshing our visit was for them,” said training consultant Michelle Scandurro. “I think I can speak for everyone when I say the day was an inspiration to all who were involved and was the perfect way to begin the holiday season.”
On December 13th, Resolvit’s Raleigh office worked with their local affiliate of the Ronald McDonald House, which provides a “home away from home” (at little to no cost) for families with children undergoing extensive medical care. In addition to storing food donations and baking cookies, the Raleigh team helped set up “Santa’s Room,” a space containing donated gifts for families staying at the center.
“The room ended up looking like a department store!” said recruiter Gabrielle Barnes. “It was such an amazing feeling to have all of us come together as a team to bring the spirit of giving to the families there.”
